Austin Energy works with trade and building professionals in the Austin area to help serve the needs of our community.
Local participating contractors and building and design professionals work closely with us and our customers on improvements and projects that help conserve energy, save money, and maintain or increase comfort in homes or businesses.
Register as a Vendor with the City of Austin
Austin Energy works with a variety of vendors to help with operations and projects. We especially encourage local and women- or minority-owned businesses to work with us.
To become an Austin Energy vendor, you must first register with the City of Austin's Vendor Connection.
Registering allows you to:
- List your products or services with the City
- Receive solicitation notices when your product or services meet our business needs
- Look for different types of solicitations, and see when master agreements expire and are ready for re-solicitation
Women- and Minority-Owned Businesses Encouraged
We encourage women- and minority-owned businesses to take advantage of business opportunities with Austin Energy. We can help you navigate the Vendor Connection registration and certification processes.

Explore Our Participating Contractor Opportunities
Our customers use our listings of registered contractors to select companies to perform energy efficiency installations, audits, and other services. Austin Energy has many opportunities for registered local businesses and providers to perform these services to our customers:

Contractor disconnects and
reconnects for residential electric service rebuilds — We enable eligible electrical contractors to
perform residential service rebuilds on behalf of Austin Energy.

Participating contractors for energy efficiency rebate and incentive programs — Austin
Energy works with local, trained professionals who make energy efficiency improvements through our Rebates and Incentives Programs.

Registered Solar Photovoltaic
(PV) installers — Austin Energy maintains a list of solar professionals in the Austin area. These
participating contractors are eligible to offer Austin Energy incentives to customers who install solar power at
their homes or businesses
- Certified Energy Conservation Audit and Disclosure (ECAD) energy professionals — The Energy Conservation Audit and Disclosure (ECAD) ordinance requires that ECAD audits be performed by certified energy professionals. ECAD Energy Professionals perform energy audits on residential and multifamily properties. They can also provide assistance for commercial facilities.
Design and Build Green
Austin Energy Green Building (AEGB) collaborates directly with building industry professionals who are working hard to shape our city to create a more environmentally friendly, sustainable, and healthy Austin.
When you rate your building with Austin Energy Green Building, you contribute to Austin’s environmental and sustainability goals and earn recognition for your work. Our team approach to construction makes it easier to incorporate green building principles at every step of a project.

Requests for Proposals (RFPs)
Austin Energy periodically issues RFPs directed to qualified and experienced companies who develop and build energy resources, particularly those who provide renewable and/or stored energy. RFPs are posted on our website, along with submission deadlines and other relevant information.
